Gmail Live voice search rolls out to Workspace on mobile

Google is bringing Gmail Live to Workspace users on Android and iOS: a voice conversation that searches your inbox with Gemini, speaks the answer and shows a source card for the emails it drew from. You can now also pick the voice. US, English only.

Why it matters

Advisors and agents who are often on the road can ask their inbox for a client detail or status update hands-free, with a link back to the source email so the answer can be checked.

What's new

Taken from the maker's own announcement, release notes or product pages. Claims about speed, accuracy or results are the maker's, not ours.

Worth a look if: You often need to find a client email while driving between appointments or with your hands full.

Worth knowing: Spoken answers can be overheard; avoid using it for client financial or personal details in public places. It is on by default for Gemini-enabled organizations, so admins who want it off must use the existing smart-feature and personalization controls. Check the source card before acting on an answer.
